Dawn Whalls is a certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA approved consultant and a Registered Social Worker. She obtained her Bachelor of Social Work Degree in 1991 and a Master Degree in Social Work in 2013 from the University of Western Ontario.
Dawn has over twenty-five years of counselling experience working with children, youth, individuals and families. She has practiced in the areas of mental health, child welfare, domestic violence, addictions and supporting persons with disabilities.
Dawn utilizes evidence-based, trauma informed interventions. Her therapeutic modalities include; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Motivational Interviewing, Brief-Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Sand Tray therapy, as well as Somatic Based Theories. She is a member of OASW, OASWSSW and EMDRIA International.
Dawn delivers therapeutic treatment to individuals, children and families impacted by symptoms associated with PTSD, complex and developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, intimate partner violence, addictions and persons affected by disabilities.
Dawn provides EMDR consultation and clinical consultation to professional therapist upon request.
